I just downloaded the Live at The Wiltern album on iTunes and realized I never reviewed this concert. It's obviously been a while since I had honor of seeing this incredible live performance, but the fact that I'm still so smitten with this concert all this time later to write a review speaks for itself. I wasn't fortunate enough to see Sigur Ros live (still on my bucket list), but got my hands on Jonsi's Go at the first opportunity and, once I found out he was coming to a town near mine I couldn't buy tickets fast enough. I've been to a fair share of concerts and I was more excited for this one than any prior and he did not dissapoint. This concert was without a doubt the greatest thing I'd ever seen. The kind where trying to describe it or even watching live footage on youtube just doesn't do it justice. You had to be there. There's no other way to describe the experience. I will also say that this is the first concert I have ever been to in which nobody moved or made a sound until the song was over. He had each of us wrapped around those guitar strumming fingers of his. Even my husband (whom I'd been trying to convert to a Sigur Ros fan without much more than a "Yeah, that was a pretty good song") turned to me after hearing and watching the incredible art display during Kolnidur and said "That was the most amazing thing I've ever seen in my life." He doesn't get as passionate about music as I do and while Jonsi can (and did) move me to tears, my husband still rocks out to the Go album in his car. Success! I must also say that I'm so grateful that they decided to play in Lawrence, Kansas. We have two small children, who at the time were really tiny, and I have no doubt that we would not have been able to experience this show otherwise. I really hope he comes back here. Singing "Happy Birthday" to Jonsi after the show was a huge treat too; one that I won't forget. Hands down, best concert I've ever seen and it actually makes me sad that I will never be able to re-live that experience.

Nico, you put it so beautifully! Jon has a spirit unlike any other person I have ever known and it is clearly portrayed in his music and live shows, they are consuming, captivating to the tenth degree, and absolutely a lifetime memory! Being as how I am writing this review over 16months later clearly shows it's lasting affects, not just on myself but also on my now 6 year old son who got to experience his first concert that beautiful night in Oct. He just said to me, I miss the Jonsi show. Does he remember it because of the vivid visuals, the most powerful music he had ever heard or was it because he got to play with Jonsi in the rain after the show, more than likely it was all of the above! We got to wait outside and meet an awesome individual named Nico^ who gave my son his hacky sac which we still have and play with to this day. It was just an amazing night, added to an amazing life that is now completely saturated with Jonsi's music day in and day out.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart Jon!

Hey Jonsi, I love your music, I listen to it often and Go is even my cell phone ringtone. I just found out you were in Montreal about six months ago... and I missed your show! Quel dommage! According to the reviews, it has been a wonderful show. I hope you will come back in your next tour so I can join all of your fan and acclaim you in person! :)

This show was simply amazing! Still reminiscing about it now over a year ago, and it is by far one of the best shows I have been to. I was struck in awe...felt like I had transcended into a completely different world. quite magical :)

Jónsi, come to Poland, one more time please.
Just saw Heima, and think you are a shaman. You connect to sth that is called magic, spirit, energy, and something that is common, in every sens you cam imagine to us as a humans.
Thank you for letting me by your world, to place that is primary.
By music you and guys from Sigur, I could connet to myslef, to speak without any language, and without any thoughts. How can it happen? Thinking without thoughts. Yea, you made me do this.
Thank you, and get invitation to Poland, any time.
Hugs

Easily one of the greatest, most all encompassing concerts I have been to. Jonsi finds a way to combine to all out amazing live energy of a Radiohead show with the almost spiritual devotion of seeing Sufjan Stevens play. Out of the many and various live acts I have seen Jonsi is toward the top end.

The show, the set, and the experience were brilliant and only serve to make you want to see it again. I would probably pay a full price ticket just to hear Kolniður again. That song, with the background visuals, was breathtaking. The venue, as others have mentioned, leaves a lot to be desired. It is cramped, the sight lines are poor (bordering on completely absent), and the setup for the crowd is, well, lacking. Whatever the limitations of the space, Jonsi overcame them all and put on a great show.
