i got mine done yesterday.
i love the handwriting on Sigur rós' albums so i used that and translated lyrics from 'Go Do' to Icelandic :)
and this is the finished piece a few hours after it was done.

Go sing what?
e: Oh ok. "Go sing too (a) noisy; boisterous".
Icelandic is so fun!
You used that Icelandic to English translator didn't you....
haha, intense.
i am not the tattoo getting type, but if i had to it would be white and something iceland related. or new zealand related. i lived there for a time, and visited iceland for an extended period, but iceland is more fascinating to me. who knows.
nice stomach btw.
oh it's a line from 'go do':
"go sing, too loud"
pardon me for asking, but why not just have them lyrics in english?
also, i can see a similar page like this being created in the future:

neat-o! :)
I have an Iceland inspired tattoo based on the sculpture "Solfar". It's currently healing but here are some pics before my final 3 hour session. No Jonsi tattoo (yet).

but what if you get pregnant?
in reply to Kimiko, i wont, so it wont be ruined.
This is one of the best Sigur Ros inspired tatoo I've ever seen!
Really, there are maybe only another two that could compare.
But I think it would have been nicer on your shoulder than on your belly... but that's just an opinion ^^
Oh wow, the tattoo is lovely!
AWESOME!!!!!!
I hope to get one just like that. Words on the shoulder.
What does it say???
i think it says "ainsley, we really need to talk"
i think it says laff out loud.
it translates into "the best thing god has created is a new day" it is from viðrar vel til loftárása
@Mikekelley, that's exactly what it says bro.
Mikekelly I don't understand why you're taking the piss :|
@ burnout ^^^
Could it be because it's just so damn easy?
actually that tatt reads
"pat benetar seems quite the heifer but her ski pad is no danger"
LOL sodium
I'm a little behind on this thread, but here is my Jonsi tattoo that I got today :)
I lovelovelooooove it.

A bit hard to read, sorry, but it's "We should always know that we can do anything"
I forgot who, but I think the award for best Sigur Ros/Jonsi tatoo hast to go to the kid with the Takk album cover tattoo'd on his back.
i have been thinking of getting a Jonsi tattoo.. something from Around Us i think, we'll see.
not Jonsi, but Sigur Ros... :D (and i obviously can't take a damn photo! ha!)

pretty :D
I wish Alex would make some more artwork that was more specifically 'Jónsi', that would be awesome. Maybe with birds and feathers and shit (although less of the shit). I really love the photos and artwork that have been doen for 'Go', but I don't think they would translate so well into a tattoo :(
Author: That's-a me!

And I am currently designing a Jónsi themed tattoo. Kind of. Being a bit tight-lipped about it. But I'll show you guys when it's done.
O God it's truly beautiful but it's so big... aren't you afraid you'll eventually get tired of it?
Birbax - Not at all. I've addressed this before, so I'll just be short here, but it's not just the album artwork to Takk..., it's all entirely too symbolic (111 birds for Shakespeare's 111th Sonnet, stuff like that), and it all has to do with coming to terms with my sexuality. So, no, I don't think I'll get tired of it.
What an interesting Sonnet to identify with.
