Oh oh oh can we have a one hit wonder dump
Also I guess I misused the term "one-hit wonder", more like "5-years will be forgotten wonder"

@travelingbuddha Will definitely check out Aereogramme and Unwinding Hours!! I'm open to anything so not worried about the roughness... And so glad I'm not the only one here who knows of the Church!! =) I was so thrilled to see they have still had things going on after all these years. I lost touch back in the early 90s after they put out "Priest=Aura." Steve Kilbey, Marty Willson-Piper, and Peter Koppes all 3 have websites (drummers have varied, so...), but Steve's is the most interesting, and he posts regularly - like every 2 to 3 days, as well as responds to comments here and there. I highly recommend checking it out and reading his blog - http://www.thetimebeing.com Pretty interesting. He writes his posts as poems. I've totally fallen in love with the man. Oh - and I checked out the Olympic Swimmers video you posted this morning and loved it!! Really good!! =)
nookie, you remember when that crazy town song was used in the movie "Orange County" with Jack Black?
Andrea. One of the guys from Unwinding hours helped with the Olympic swimmers song. There are some brilliant music folk in Scotland.
@travelingbuddha Really?? That was a lovely song so expecting much from Unwinding Hours!! I haven't listened yet but wrote everything down for when I have some time for youtubing... Do you have any other Scottish recommendations??
@Medizin, Indeed her acoustic versions are better, but still. I can't say I like her music at all. It's not appealing and rather annoying to listen to, to be honest. But I must admit she is a genious, taking over the world in this rate of speed. And she came up with something original, which I admire. But still. NO.
@nook, "Also pjarki is retarded" I cannot really see how my taste in music has anything to do with my level of intellect? I mean, I'd not call someone else retarded because they dont like Sigur Rós. So...
oh god, I think I've mentioned this before but
Godspeed you! Black emperor.
Antennas to Heaven is so goddamn beautiful, from the old folk sample at the strt, to the little Québécois kids singing, to that gorgeous break down then the builds and builds and builds.
to think these guys toured with sigur...I think I'd have a stroke at a show where both of them played, it'd be too much.
/late night rants humid weather sorry had to
Well I like a lot op bands/musicians, but it's especially classical, Bach Beethoven etc. Dont't think I'll have to put links of their music here.

My dad always put some songs on and I've known my entire life, but I don't know the names of the songs.
People think persons of my age don't listen to this kind of music.
myrthe, have you heard of immediate music? they're kind of like globus or E. S. Posthumous, doing all that movie trailer style music stuff
someone compiled like four of their songs into one and made the most epic song to ever epic let me see if I can find it
e: dohmygod yes found it prepare your butts
the recording couldnt even handle it that's why it sounds like shit halfway through
Medzi,
You can get GYBE Yanqui U.X.O off of gogoyoko for 4 euro.
^ u can get it for free everywhere else.. . .. .. . . : ) ?
e: and no I don't understand why anyone would pay money for a digital download.
Devendra Banhart. This guy is snoozeville old news right, but I been spending time with 3 of his records lately and they crept up like soft moss on rocks real gentle. digging dude more and more...
wow especially @ this tunes 1st bit of poetry.
@Medizin
Yes I discovered Globus via Immediate Music. I love it, my mom hates it.
just watched Pearl Jam Twenty. I've only seen them twice yet. really should be doing something about that.
Nook, I'm not going to get preachy. But having owned a small music store, and having been on that side of the music world I can honestly say that if it has ever been available to purchase, I have purchased it. It's my preference just like it's the preference of others not to pay.
That being said, if you buy off of Gogoyoko, not only does 100% of the sale go to the indie label or artist that posts their music there, but 40% of the ad stream revenue goes to them as well, and 10% goes to charity. And having met the people that run Gogoyoko I really support them whenever I can, because they really are musicians who have put a site together for other musicians. And yeah, you can by the album for 4 euro, or you can actually listen to the entire thing for free from the site as well.
I finally got around to watching "Iceland: Beyond Sigur Ros" yesterday, and 2 guys from Gogoyoko are on there explaining all about their site. It's a good thing. But better than anything else on that whole half hour little movie was a snippet from Berndsen called "Supertime," so I searched youtube for the whole video. It totally made my day!! Oh my gosh!! http://youtu.be/ysPcyOvNJew
OMG This: http://youtu.be/N6jtO5-Q0YY

I don't even care if some people think she's just a studio soprano. She's stunning and the second piece shows off her voice so well...My grandpa had a record of Maria Callas singing that song and when he died I grabbed all his old records to make things with but somehow that one survived the great idea of sticking records in the oven to make all sorts of travesties with them and now as an adult I put it on and listen, listen, listen to her sing her heart to me.
