I checked out Moby's "Wait for Me" album after hearing "Shot in the Back of the Head" and it ended up being pretty interesting...
The use of choral elements in "A Seated Night" and the general mood of the album made me think of SR on the first listen, and sure enough, I found that the album was mixed by Ken Thomas. Am I good or what

So Nicki Minaj... basically Pink Friday is powerful good yah.
and jesus... like she just sampled "Don't You Forget About Me". Gonna take me 4ever to get over this record.

^ yeah yeah... but more importantly have you grabbed the "submarine" and "spitting" sounds I posted yet, nook?
Posted 1 year ago # -
I did! I listened to the spitting thing a few times but can't figger it..
the other sound you sampled was the warble tho, not submarine and it sounded exactly like those ooooowahhhaooo sticks.Posted 1 year ago # -
^ ah okay, right, the warble versus the sub. if u let me know the time of the submarine I'll try to grab that....the spitting thing it the ass end of of some sort of reverse sample. you often get that sound when reversing hi-hats or cymbals, where the attack is at the end of the sound.
you have got seriously fucking great ears, girly wurly. seriously. you hear shit that most others don't/can't. you'd be a valuable asset in a mixdown suite, for real.

I was going through my records and came across my Godspeed you black emporer stuff. man I forgot how good they were. That and the Cancer Conspiracy are going to be on repeat for a little while now.
And I really dig the new Mogwai stuff as well.

I have! José González is a beastly musician. I like his solo stuff a little better than what's on Fields. I didn't go see them when they came to Chapel Hill, though, which I'm starting to regret.

I recently kind of found Mew thanks to Peacefully :D I love them! I can't think of any others at the moment though, I've been so busy with Christmas stuff that I haven't been able to listen to anything for ages. Also, my cat chewed through my headphones wire so they broke and I have to wait until after christmas for some new ones as the snow is effecting all the delieveries and stuff D:

If you live in the US, you should seriously consider going to one of these shows!
http://olafurarnalds.com/tour-dates/
I just bought tickets for the one in Chicago, it was only $15 each and no service charge. That is how it should always be :) I'm so excited to have something else to look forward to now that Jonsi is finished for a while.
e: also one UK show, almost forgot about you :)
