   And for the bowed guitar sound get flat wound strings and reverb. Normal round wound strings are much more screechy and the reverb gives it the lush, dreamy quality.

   the two E strings you can do so because they are on the outside and you can angle it so you can get just the low E and A or the high E and B. But individual notes work by far the best when just using the low E string. You kind of feel extremely simple and basic when doing so, but that's what so much of the cool stuff comes from. Especially when the songs get heavier, all Jonsi is doing is playing the low E string by itself in the 12th fret to 19th fret range. Full chords also work as well, but individual notes on the inner strings can't really happen.

   I'm already getting loads of ideas on ways to use it. >:D

   One last question, though. Does it work well with an open tuning and a slide or does the pushing of the bow and the slide cause the strings to touch the frets?

   I have never tried it with a slide, but you just gave me the idea to try it. Open tunings actually work wonders because they naturally sound good by letting open strings ring out and playing with a bow is all about that. I have a double neck guitar and an idea I want to work into a song is tuning one of the necks to the open tuning of what the song's key is. Then on the other neck I will play chords and let the bow push and pull on both sets of strings.
