Guys

I came downstairs this morning and mom said: 'look at this, I think you'll like it.'
So she gave me the weekly what'sgonnabeonthetelly thing and there was one fucking ARTICLE about Inni!! Everyone in Holland reads that thing 8DDDPosted 5 months ago # -
To be concise, I will point us at the other mb for this news. ;-)

A Sigur Ros concert would be a perfect send off to New Zealand ever. Talk about getting in the life changing mindset for another life changing experience.
Posted 4 months ago # -
Better get my nephew lined up for a ride!! =D Hope they come fairly close!!

Hang on there... Did anyone who can understand that interview hear "world" or "global"? I sure hope so, wouldn't want you to wait for a send off until you actually *get* to New Zealand Shenkerton. I know some bands are touring Europe and Australia to leverage the exchange rate, not that i would even pretend to understand the economics, but I know it's a factor of arranging dates. And April or August?
Need to dump that interview into the Icelandic version of Dragon and run it through google translate.... ;-)Posted 4 months ago # -
omg, let's hope they come to sweeden!! that's fairly close to iceland after all

@moe. There is no way in hell that I am going to miss SR live if they come anywhere close to ohio. My original plan for a SR tour (before I decided on going to New Zealand) was to see them anywhere within a 10 hour radius of Ohio. I will have to cut that back to save for the big trip, but trust me, as a person who has seen them live I say this simple advice to everyone.
NO MATTER HOW DIFFICULT IT MAY BE, MAKE SACRIFICES TO GO SEE SIGUR ROS LIVE BECAUSE IT COULD VERY WELL BE ONE OF THE GREATEST MOMENTS OF YOUR ENTIRE LIFE. IT FOREVER CHANGED MY PERSPECTIVE ON LIFE IN SUCH A GRAND WAY. THE REASON WHY I BELIEVE THERE IS SOMETHING BIGGER IN THIS UNIVERSE HOLDING US ALL TOGETHER, IT COULD JUST BE LOVE, WAS BECAUSE THERE WAS A MAGIC AT THE SIGUR ROS SHOW THAT WAS SO INDESCRIBABLE THAT I AM GOING TO LEAVE THIS SPACE ______________ FOR EVERY ADJECTIVE IN THE DICTIONARY TO BE PLACED IN.

Schenkie's wicked capitals are to be taken verrryy seriously.
The experience of seeing a band live is what music is all about.
I don't want to read lame excuses afterwards like I'm too shy to go alone (plenty of great people at the show!) It's too far and I can't get back home (sleep in your car) My BF/GF isn't too happy about it (dump 'em) My parents won't let me (I'll send them a letter of recommendation!) I'm low on cash (start saving NOW, it is SO worth it).
Coming up with excuses is fooling yourself.Posted 4 months ago # -
Siri, you did such a wonderful job at backing up my wicked capitals with great examples and humor. But for reals, it is SERIOUS.
Posted 4 months ago # -
Yes, definitely! Shenks, maybe I'll see you at the shows between Missouri and Ohio :) geez I can't wait!
Posted 4 months ago # -
Oh that would be awesome! When tour dates are eventually released we should see if there is one.

I found out about the radio broadcast only the day afterwards, otherwise I definately would have recorded it. Is there any chance to have a recording of the entire radio programme, victoryrosemusic? PLEASE!

About that broadcast, @bjossilu, THANKS FOR POSTING IT!!!!!!!
In these contexts about Sigur Rós and non-english/swedish whatever friggin language, I AM SO FRICKING THANKFUL TO BE SPEAKING AND UNDERSTANDING ICELANDIC.Posted 4 months ago # -
I need to start listening to RÚV more often. Even though I understand very little, it's nice to hear and I suppose it's good practice for my ears and brain :) Orri is especially hard for me to understand, he mumbles so much and speaks so fast! The day I can understand one entire sentence that comes out of his mouth, that's the day I'll say that I understand Icelandic. Thanks for the link!

The song that's playing around 92-93 minutes, did they say that was Mugison? I like it!
Posted 4 months ago # -
omg, listening now but I'm not understanding so much, do they say anything fun?
Posted 4 months ago # -
Thanks for the link, (I knew it before). However, I can't capture the programme.
Posted 4 months ago # -
AH! Why cant i learn icelandic so well. Im trying to learn it but i dont understand a thing they say, cam some one translate the highlights? All i can understand is the music. <3 hoppipolla

If I understood Icelandic, the entire mystery behind Sigur Ros would be gone. No thanks for learning the language for me.

Understanding Iceland ≠ having a clue what Jónsi’s singing in it most of the time.Just like you can easily enjoy Go though you understand English, because nobody has a clue what the hell he’s singing in it.

You make a good point.

So true! He seems to not even know some of the time, or even care. Look at how often he "changes" lyrics live, or watch the video from that show in France where he replaces lyrics with new funny ones. I love it! I think it happens on on Inni too, during the same song. That is a hard one, though, I'll give him that.
I just like the way Icelandic sounds, even coming out of my novice mouth.

@rosega yes it´s Mugison and you can see his concert from 22 dec. at this link http://support.apple.com/kb/ht3964
@augnablik what happens is the link in continius loading ? Are you on Mac ? You can try to goto the link and put the mouse on the play button and right click and choose Restore Flash. If you´r on PC I don´t know.

He’s not very good at remembering his own lyrics. And even if you then tell him the right lyrics, there’s a good chance he won’t even recognise them. His comment upon being ‘reminded’ by me of the lyrics to the second verse of Ný Batterí after a gig many moons ago: “Seriously? We wrote that? How morbid!”Posted 4 months ago #
