Hi, I have been struggling with those all alright lyrics for sometime, I thought some of you maybe have an opinion. Even though it is sung in English it is really hard to make out what he sings sometimes, I have looked on internet but I don't think they are really correct, this is what I got up with: (The text between the brackets are alternatives or possibilities)
What do you hear? Also the meaning of the song is really interesting..In my opinion it is for Alex.

yah the track is about jonsi fucking other people not Alex and telling Alex about it and probably shit did not go over well for some time. Somewhere on srmb there's a full translation I looked 4 it to link you but got bored.
It would be a 2008 thread most likely.

yah medzy i'll try and find it... I think it was in Out or something. Definitely some gay rag anyways...

( when i first heard the song and figured out wut was going on I cried and was very very upset so I do sympathize)

No seriously... I figured it was about Jónsi cheating on Alex, but like... when you say it nook it sounds so horrible,

(what a nuisance this song is on the INNI album. I always have to be ready to skip it quickly. Not that it is not beautiful. It sprinkles salt in old wounds of mine.
Besides, putting this song on the end of an album is all very well, but playing it in concerts ? I don't know. Dragging old cows from the gutter and everything (I know, is dutch proverb))

Pitchfork: The new album is the first time Sigur Rós has had a song with English lyrics. What prompted that decision? Was it deliberate?
Georg: Yeah, I think it was. In fact, we actually wrote the lyrics for five or six of the songs in English. But it didn't seem to work out, it didn't fit. We needed to do something about it. So we tried to translate some of them back into Icelandic, and sometimes it worked and sometimes it didn't, and sometimes we wrote new lyrics. The only song on the album which is in English ["All Alright"] is one Jonsi wrote, and he was very secretive about it. He didn't really let me read them before he sang the song on the record. He was very quiet about it. I was always asking him, "What are we doing about that song, are we writing more lyrics?" And he would say, "No, I've already done it, it's in English." "OK, can I read it?" "No."

Why do I keep thinking of that picture of Jonsi posing all sexily with that one guy while Alex is just standing in front of them by himself?? I wish I could post pics on here cuz it's in my picture folder... I'd no doubt be super wary of him after the first offense... But to still be together says a lot. And it is probably hard for Jonsi to sing that song live and just repeat the whole thing over in his mind - as you said about the cows in the gutter, siri.

I don't understand who Jónsi is, he's so beautiful and incredible and amazing and sensitive and BEAUTIFUL, but it's like he have an alter-ego, when he've been drinking to much...

I actually just joined to say this lol

I really think it's a noble thing for him to continue singing that song live despite what memories it might bring forth. It's a way for him to remind himself what he's done so he can grow stronger from it. Afterall, to attempt to forget a deed such as the one he commited, is to open yourself up to repeating that deed. Because of this, he can grow stronger in his love for Alex, and they can both move on from the issue. Also hopefully get married eventually. :P

Anyway, the two of them, especially Jónsi, are very strong to continue despite the mistakes that have been made. I actually respect Jónsi more now. I do respect Alex too though, don't get me wrong. D:

^Nicely said. I was going to add that pretty much everyone looks and acts foolish when they're drunk, they just aren't unfortunate enough to be recorded. I would hate to see how I look drunk. However, it is fun to do (safely and responsibly young people!) in moderation. Just don't. get. recorded.

It would be so hard to put something so personal out there for people to discuss! I can't even imagine. It has been the downfall of so many other beautiful artists (Cobain, Smith, etc.). It must be terrifying. I'm very glad they were both able to forgive and move on, and to share this with everyone. It feels a little weird talking about it, or is it just me?

i can definitely agree with that. (ahem)

jonsi seems to me a lot like one of my best friends, who also happens to be gay; he's incredibly flirty, even when in a relationship. its part of his personality. he insists that it isn't because he isn't committed or in love with his boyfriend, its just something he naturally does.
i guess poor judgment (and maybe some booze) can play a deadly card when you have a personality like that, and in this case it was a bit of a wake up call for him. the good thing is that he regrets it enough to write a song about it, and to be able to sing that song hundreds of times and face his own demons while doing it - that's respectable. the fact that alex is forgiving is respectable too.

i second what waits said about the marriage though - it's been what, 9 years since they've known each other, 7 since they've been together? gay marriage is legal in iceland now, lets get on with it boyyyyyyz.

No, seriously "A just don't get HIV kind of agreement"? I don't think they are the jealous type of guys, but now you're taking it to far...

@andrea- What do you mean? Jónsi told in some interview that the reason he could drink so much was because he ate all this good food, it weigh out...

I think it's great too that he sings this song, I guess Alex said it was ok. But I just can't stop thinking about when he talks about his infidelity, He says "sometimes MISSTAKES happens" what is that suppose to mean? that word is in plural D:

I know people get stupid when their drunk, but on tours, They are partying like after EVERY show, that must be like 5 times a week or more. I wish Jónsi would grow up a little, (But don't lose the beauty) everybody else in the band is married and have two kids and all serious. And Jónsi is the oldest one and he's like LET'S PARTY I WANT BOOZE ANS NO STRAWBERRY GAY BEER!!
They should totally have a child, right now.

@Dust So all the healthy food makes Jonsi's liver strong enough to handle all the alcohol?? Possible, I suppose... It's just that, I love Jonsi and Alex to death, but it seems hypocritical to me. We all have our hypocrisies, but it just bugs me. I'm into health stuff and such, so... Plus have a ton of alcoholics in my family so have seen the damage it does, including the death of one of my uncles due to scerosis of the liver thanks to the dear old alcool. I don't like alcohol at all and don't enjoy being around people who are drunk. I tried wine once and thought it tasted like medicine. I actually would think they would be into water and freshly squeezed orange juice... Eh bien... It's them - not me...
